Take Part in the 16th Annual “Swim to Klein Bonaire”
For the 16th time, Bonaire’s youth development center, Jong Bonaire, is hosting its annual fundraising event, Swim to Klein Bonaire, on Sunday, October 9th, 2016. As usual, this fun and well attended events kicks off the festivities of the Bonaire Sailing Regatta. This sport and social event brings together families and individuals, locals and visitors, all in the support of the children of Jong Bonaire.
Event Venue and Entry Fee
The event will be held at Spice Beach Club, which is the starting point. The entry fee is $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under 12 years of age. Included is a free lunch meal, a drink, a piece of fruit, and the best part of all: The event t-shirt, which are proudly worn and become collector’s items.
What to Expect if You Participate
Last year, almost 500 people swam to Klein Bonaire and most of them swam back as well. This time, Jong Bonaire hopes to see a record-breaking number of participants are again.
For those who do not wish to swim back, there are many boats available to pick up people and return them to jSpice Beach Club. Participants can use fins, masks, or even flotation devices. Organizations such as Red Cross and Coast Guard also will be involved to manage the safety of all participants.
Everyone, young and old, is invited to participate in order to turn the 16th Swim to Klein Bonaire into a huge success!
