Continental
Continental has confirmed that the Newark and Houston
flights will continue as per the schedule.
Delta
Delta has said that they will not
resume the JFK-BON route in the winter of 2010-2011 as originally
planned.
We have confirmed with Delta that the Atlanta flight
remains on the schedule and all traffic normally using the JFK
flight will have connections over Atlanta.
Insel Air
Effective November 10, 2009, a Ticketing and Baggage
Agreement was signed between US Airways and Insel Air, so that
they are able to issue tickets on one another and allowing customers
to create connections (i.e. CLT-MIA-BON) and through-check their
bags between carriers.
An additional component of interline relationships
between carriers is the ability to through-check the connecting
passenger (not just bags), allowing issuance of boarding passes
between carriers. US Airways currently lacks passenger through
check with Insel Air, but it is a near term mutual objective.
In summary, today bags can be checked through, while customers
still need to check-in with the connecting carrier for their onwards
boarding passes when transiting between US Airways and Insel Air.
All of these flights are valid for winter flying.
(Please note, however, that in April, US Air will cease all Caribbean
flying out of Boston).
The agreement between US Air and Insel Air does not
yet include a through fare agreement, thus passengers using these
connections will be ticketed on two point-to-point tickets.
The Tourism Corporation Bonaire announces that Insel
Air will be
commencing a new weekly non-stop flight from Miami, Florida to
Bonaire
effective July 4, 2009. The flight will operate weekly on Saturdays
throughout the year.
Insel Air flight #7I 907 will depart Bonaire at 11:55
a.m. arriving into
Miami at 3:05 p.m. The return flight #7I 908 will depart Miami
at 4:25
p.m. arriving into Bonaire at 7:35 p.m. Insel Air will use either
an MD 82
or MD 83 aircraft configured with 152 economy seats.
For reservations on Insel Air, travelers from the
United States should

Divi Divi Air NV

Curacao
Neth. Antilles
This smaller airlines offers good service from Curacao
to Bonaire. You can take various flights to Curacao and then just
take Divi. I didit and it works well. Their planes only hold 9
passengers but they have many flights per day. It may sound strange
in today's world but you simply call them, make a reservation
and pay cash when you arrive in Curacao. Pick up all your luggage,
tell Curacao customs and immigration that you are in transit taking
Divi. Go outside on turn left walking to their check in counter
past American Airlines counters. It is not far. You must pay cash
about $50 per person. Divi counter personnel are extremely friendly
and helpful.
